How to Setup an Outlook.com account on Android

Many times you have to setup by yourself your Outlook.com account on an Android device.

There are two different ways to setup an Outlook.com account on Android devices. Here´s a brief tutorial that shows the two methods:

Push notifications can be received if you have an Android device that supports Microsoft Exchange Active Sync. Just follow these steps and be sure to enter this information:

Setup Outlook.com (Exchange)
Domain / Username: ( Enter your username user@outlook.com)
Password: Enter the password
Use safe connection (SSL): Activated
Accept all SSL certificates: Disabled

Then, go to setup sync selecting the new mail way (Push notifications), sync calendar and Outlook.com account with your device, etc.

If your device doesn´t have Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support, you must setup your Outlook.com account as a POP3 one. You must enter your username and password and start manual setup, select POP3 and enter the following information

Username: Enter your username user@outlook.com
Password: Enter the password
POP3 server: pop3.live.com
Port: 995
Security Type: SSL/TLS (accept all certificates) or SSL (accept all certificates)
SMTP server: smtp.live.com
Port: 587
Security type: None
Ask for sign up: Disabled

If you want your mails be erased from Android app, you must tell it to the field ¨ Delete server email¨ so you must open Outlook.com and go to Setup/Manage your account/ POP and deleting downloaded messages. Select ¨Do what the other program requieres: if messages are requiered to be deleted, do it¨

Once you fill in the above information, just finish setup your account by adjusting sync, notifications and the option to check if there are new emails. With POP3 notifications are not online.

Disable Messenger History Messages on Outlook.com

Sometimes you want to disable Messenger History Messages on Outlook.com. You can disable them just by following this brief tutorial on which we explain the whole process in 5 simple steps.

Enter from your browser to www.outlook.com
Click on the gear icon on the upper right corner next to the name
Click on More Mail Setup Options
On Managing my account, click on History Messages
Click on ¨No, Thanks¨ and then click on ¨Save¨

Remember that conversations which are stored on Outlook.com Messenger can´t be deleted but you can disable the option for future messages that you don´t want to be saved.

How to Delete an Outlook.com account

Outlook.com is the lattest Microsoft´s Communications platform. You can try it by creating a new Outlook.com account or by changing to Outlook.com from your Hotmail account. If you have already created an Outlook.com account and want to delete it, follow this tutorial:

Sign in Outlook.com
Click on the ¨gear¨ icon on the upper right corner and then click on ¨More setup mail options¨
Click on Details of the account (password, addresses, time zone, etc) and you will be able to enter and edit or update your account information. There you have the chance to delete an Outlook.com account.
On the low part where it says ¨Close Account¨, click on that option to enter to a new template where you can delete your Outlook.com account
There you can delete your Outlook.com account forever.

Update Hotmail to new Outlook.com

Now you can change from your Hotmail account to a new Outlook.com one. Mail accounts from @hotmail.com, hotmail.es, live and many others are still available but with the option : Update to Outlook. With this option, all your hotmail contacts, settings, sent and stored messages etc, will be moved to Outlook platform with no loose of anything.

When you click on the option to Update to Outlook.com you will see this box:

Changing my Hotmail image

Hotmail image of your profile can be changed. Maybe you have already seen it on your contacts images. Now here´s a tutorial that explains how to change your Hotmail image profile in order to keep it updated with your lattest photograph. Follow these steps:

Enter to your Hotmail account. (Name account and password shoud be introduced)
Click on your account name or nickname on the upper right corner of your screen.
Click on ¨Options¨ and select the info profile list.
Under the script there´s a ¨Profile¨ option that says ¨Image: ¨Select the image that resembles you¨
Select ¨Pick a Photo¨. After that go to ¨Exam¨ and you have the chance to test each retail of your Photo and modify it.
When the Photo is done, click on ¨Open¨. Remember that the Photo can´t weight more than 4mb
A tiny box will preview the Photo with the option to modify for the last time
Click on ¨Save¨ and you will be back to the ¨Options¨ page and your Photo will be saved.

3 methods to enter to Hotmail

Different methods to enter to hotmail are always activated. The traditional is the one that Hotmail has by default and known by everyone. Disable Adware on Messenger Plus Live

If you download apks constantly, it happens that publicity appears as long as you are logging your programs. This is very common not only on apks but also on chatting and communication programs like MSN Plus live.

So you must disable the program anti-adware/spyware and reinstall Windows Plus Live with the promoter included. Then you must follow previous steps and the adware program will be disabled so you can upload the program anti-adware/spyware.

Outlook.com Inbox features

New Outlook.com mail is available since a few months ago. If you haven´t changed yet from your Hotmail account to an Outlook.com one, the process is very simple. Just go to the gear symbol on the top of your Hotmail account and select ¨Change to Outlook.com¨. .

You have side and top functions which are located on your screen with the difference of more speed when you click on them. With these functions you will be able to mark mails and do different actions with them.
